I’m reading an excellent book, ‘Pearl in the Sand’ by Tessa Afshar. It is the story of Rahab, the prostitute, who hid the two spies on her rooftop before their attack on Jericho.
The Lord has promised us our inheritance, our land of promise. Just as the Israelites stood on the banks of the Jordan, looking at Canaan, they knew that the only thing that stood between them and the life of promised establishment and blessing, was war. There is a war on for our inheritance and we are living in a new day that requires new strength for what lies ahead.
That which we faced in the wilderness, that which we ate and experienced, we will experience no more. It is behind us, so don’t look behind for reference, nor look behind for comfort. We have to look ahead and with absolute resolve, march forward to take our land.
Often the natural manifests what is actually happening in the spiritual. The war playing out in Israel is really a manifestation of the war in the heavenlies. We are seeing evil manifest before our eyes, demanding Davids to rise up until the Goliaths fall. It is also a time of intercession and separation unto the Lord, for His insight, instruction, and much-needed understanding.
During a recent prayer time, the Lord burdened my heart for Israel. I heard Him say, ‘They have betrayed Israel as they have betrayed Me. There are traitors in the land who have sold out its people for a greater cause. Their alliance spreads across the nations, and together, they are plotting against My people everywhere.’
The enemy’s playbook is before them, and they are crossing out, line by line, each strategic move that sets in motion his wicked plan against the nations and its people. Nothing is what it appears to be. Every attack that’s launched is part of a provoking tactic to get people to react to bring the enemy’s purposes about, without moving a finger.
He works through manipulation, control, chaos, terror, and fear, creating events of horror to create pathways for power. Every crisis is designed to distract, keeping its ignorant victims unaware of the next attack. It has been easy, for the nations have been sleeping. However, with each crisis, there are tremors released upon the earth, causing a new awakening to truth.
Who are the victims of this war?
It’s not one nation or one people group. It is humanity. The devil is at war with all of creation, to destroy us from the earth and set up his kingdom. He is at war with God, Himself. Just as he entered Judas and Haman to bring forth destruction, so he has entered those who have been given over to evil. The spirit of Haman operates to destroy, firstly the Jews and the Christians, for they stand against him, what he represents, and what he wants to accomplish. We read in Ezekiel 38 and 39 about Gog and all the nations who join him in the fight against Israel and the innocent inhabitants of the earth.
On whose side is the Lord?
When Joshua asked the Lord on whose side He was, He answered, neither. He responded that He is the commander of the army of the Lord, the one who has come. It is important to understand that the enemy’s greatest strategy is the division of the people. He is only as strong as we are divided. We see these divides play out when there are catastrophic events that trigger race, culture, sex, religion, health, class, and so on. What the Lord is saying, is revolutionary. He is saying, ‘It’s not about whose side I am on, but rather, who is on My side. Those who are on My side, are united.’ Rahab was from the enemy’s land, but she chose the side of the Lord and was saved. It is imperative that we as the Bride of Christ, stand with Christ as the commander of the army of the Lord, and cling fastly to Him. When we do this, He will lead us into the battle that we are really waging, the one against our true enemy. He will open our eyes so we don’t become distracted by and enlisted into the ‘playbook war’ of provocation.
What can we learn from God’s playbook of war?
The Lord is leading the enemy out with all of his hordes. He is going out against Israel, hooked by the jaw and led by the Lord. For the Lord is setting the scene of His playbook, prophesied in the Word. Israel is called to cry out to the Lord and acknowledge Yeshua as the Messiah. The nations are called to repentance and return to the Lord. Throughout history, it is the fire of war that has brought Israel back to the Lord, moving His arm of salvation and judgment, swiftly and speedily.
The enemy’s playbook war will expose and gather every wicked allegiance and every traitor set against the nations. As they strut out into the open plains against the mountain of Israel, they will be struck by the Lord, Himself.
The shape is changing
I’ve been hearing the Lord say, ‘I’m changing the shape of everything.’ Even that which the enemy is plotting and planning, I am changing. That which he intends to bring forth, I will turn and change, and the shape will become a vessel for My purposes. The arrow he sends out to his enemies will be turned around, and he will become the target of his own shoot.
This is our Jezreel time
The Lord is the one who plants us in our new land of inheritance. He answers the heavens, who answers the earth. The earth answers the grain, the wine, and the oil, and they shall answer Jezreel, and the Lord will sow her for Himself in the land. So at the Lord’s instruction, we will be sown into the land by His mighty hand. Be not discouraged by the shape of things seen, for the Lord is at work, bringing forth a new shape to everything. The nations, the church, business, education, government, entertainment, and society as we know it, is being shaped anew. That which the Lord has prepared you for, is about to come forth… for the earth has been yearning, but hasn’t been ready for you. However, the newly shapen earth will welcome you as its stewards, harvesters, planters and planners of the new. (Hos. 2:21-22)
What is our response?
The Lord is our strength in this time of war. He is our song! As we arise – for this is a time to arise! – we will see His mighty deeds and acts of wonder being displayed across the earth… and we will see Him become our salvation! (Is. 12:2)

Isaiah 12: 2-6
The Lord Is My Strength and My Song
1 You will say in that day:
“I will give thanks to you, O Lord,
for though you were angry with me,
your anger turned away,
that you might comfort me.”
2 “Behold, God is my salvation;
I will trust, and will not be afraid;
for the Lord God is my strength and my song,
and he has become my salvation.”
3 With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation.
4 And you will say in that day:
“Give thanks to the Lord,
call upon his name,
make known his deeds among the peoples,
proclaim that his name is exalted.”
5 “Sing praises to the Lord, for he has done gloriously;
let this be made known in all the earth.”
6 “Shout, and sing for joy, O inhabitant of Zion,
for great in your midst is the Holy One of Israel.”
