Manna, day-by-day

God in His Wisdom, told us to seek His Kingdom first, then everything that we need will be added to us. He adds to us daily what we need.

God in His Wisdom, told us to seek His Kingdom first, then everything that we need will be added to us. He adds to us daily what we need. He doesn’t want us to worry or be anxious about the next day, week, or year, but He wants us to rely on Him as our Father, knowing that as we busy ourselves with Him and His Kingdom, He will take care of us… just as He takes care of the lilies of the field, and the birds of the air.

Manna is God’s miraculous provision made manifest daily. It may seem small and insignificant, but it is directly from His Hand, scattered on the ground of our lives. One rule: only gather what you need for this day. Tomorrow, He will provide again.

God is teaching us the principle of remaining dependent on Him and relying on Him daily. He sustains us each day with what we need for that day. His mercies are new every morning. Every new day is a new day with new provisions, new opportunities, and new blessings.

Can we simplify our lives and lay down the worry about ‘what if…?’ or ‘what am I going to do?’… or ‘I’m just going to have to pray now, it is all I’m left to do’…

God teaches us patience as we keep walking, knowing that He provides according to our needs every day.

So let’s learn the habit of saying, ‘Father, today my needs are ….. thank You that You open up the windows of Heaven and pour down Your abundance in this area of my life.’ We need to learn the habit of praying according to our needs. Living within a budget is fine, but sometimes it just doesn’t work. From one day to another, our budget can be thrown out of the water… but God is still the One who owns cattle on a thousand hills, the One who hands out handfuls on purpose.

There is nothing too hard for Him. For us to get overwhelmed and frustrated when an unforeseen expense comes our way, is normal at first, but then we need to pull ourselves together, remind ourselves of who God is, what He can do, and that we are fitting into His bigger plan, He’s not fitting into ours.

Learn to be expectant in the face of unforeseen, expect God’s intervention and provision, and protect your strength at all costs… your joy. Stay strong in the Lord and keep walking day by day… knowing that He will never leave nor forsake you.

There are seasons of manna, and there are seasons of abundant rain. Whether it’s the former or the latter, we still need to remain faithful and dependent on God, Jehovah Jireh, for our every need along the way.

Matthew 6:25-34

25 “Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?26 Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? 27 And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life?g 28 And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, 29 yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30 But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? 31 Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

34 “Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

Deutoronomy 28:12-14

12 The LORD will open to you his good treasury, the heavens, to give the rain to your land in its season and to bless all the work of your hands. And you shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow. 13 And the LORD will make you the head and not the tail, and you shall only go up and not down, if you obey the commandments of the LORD your God, which I command you today, being careful to do them, 14 and if you do not turn aside from any of the words that I command you today, to the right hand or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them.
