I am your Inheritance

When the Israelites came to their Promised Land, the Lord instructed Joshua to allocate the land between the eleven tribes, but the Levitical tribe, He said, will not be given land as an inheritance, for He is their inheritance.

The Lord separated and set them apart for Himself, His Glory, His Presence, and His Holiness. He called them forth to minister to Him and to bring His people into right standing with Him. Therefore, He required higher trust, higher obedience, and higher dependency.

It’s easy to feel self-reliant, self-sufficient, and independent when we succeed financially through our own efforts, it’s also easy to place our confidence and identity in our own achievements and abilities. Therefore the Lord allows seasons of lack, suffering, and delay in our lives, to teach us that He is our Provider and that He will take responsibility for us.

When Joseph was imprisoned, the Lord ministered to him during that season. He was not the same man who entered that prison upon his release. The Lord had dug deep and secured him during that time, preparing him for what was to come.

The Lord is saying to His Beautiful Bride, ‘I am your inheritance. I am enough for you. I will feed you, I will clothe you, I will provide for you in all you need, and when you see your bountiful harvest appear before your eyes, you will know and say, ‘Surely the Lord has rained upon our land, surely He has blessed us’. For I am He, Who is called Faithful, Merciful, Kind, Generous, Good, and very Wise. I have formed you and I have molded you, through your trials and your fire you have come forth as gold.

Gold is pure, gold is valuable. To Me, you are My most treasured possession. Lean on Me with your whole life. Depend on Me with all your heart. Be My child, let Me be the One who cares for you and takes responsibility for your welfare and future. You belong to Me!

Look not to those around you who prosper in their way, but look to Me alone, and walk in humility and trust, knowing that it is My Hand who delivers, My Hand who saves, and My Hand who prospers.’

Deuteronomy 18:1,2

1“The Levitical priests, all the tribe of Levi, shall have no portion or inheritance with Israel. They shall eat the LORD’s food offeringsa as theirb inheritance. 2They shall have no inheritance among their brothers; the LORD is their inheritance, as he promised them.
