Psalm 2 paints a vivid theatrical picture of God, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, speaking to rebel-kings and wicked leaders who have set themselves against Yahweh.
The rebel-kings and power brokers of the earth are continuing their schemes, even in the midst of exposure. They are carrying on, thinking themselves too powerful to fall, however, God-Enthroned is laughing at them – He is mocking their madness!
He has already provided: Christ, our King, will inherit the nations, together with His Bride, born from His side when the arrow pierced so deep. Water and blood poured forth, giving birth to His Church, His Beloved Bride.
We will see the enemy turn on each other, confusion and dread will overtake them as we inherit the nations with our King. Our domain will stretch to the ends of the earth, shepherding the nations with unlimited authority in the power of His Spirit and the revelation of His Word. Their rebellion will be crushed, everything they’ve built up will become dust. The Kingdom of our God is advancing and will be established. His mountain will crush every mountain that has set itself against the knowledge of Christ.
The enemy is trembling, he is sore afraid! He is going to the furthest lengths to dominate and control the earth, but it is not his, and it will never be! For we are the restraining force, carrying the life of Christ inside of us. What He did, we will do and more. This is our time to arise, it is our time to fight and take back every piece of land.
And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force. (Matthew 11:12)
Yet, in the midst of the shaking and quaking, the voice of God speaks, ‘turn back to Me while there is still time and see if My anger won’t be kindled against you’. For the mercy of God goes before His judgment, and His love goes before His wrath.
2020 was the year of perfect vision. God opened up new revelation and started uncovering things that have been hidden. 2021 has been a year of decision. The Lord has brought us to the Valley of Decision. This is bringing a great divide and separation. 2022 is going to be a year of release. Those who have been found faithful with revelation and decision, will be given much responsibility and authority as they are released into their new positions for this new era.
Encourage yourself in the Lord as you read this Psalm, knowing that God is in control and we are part of His exciting plan. Our King Eternal rules from Zion, and we, His Bride, are right besides Him. The nations are ours, as they are His. All authority and power has been given to us through Christ, our King.
Lift up your heads and stand as kings and priests. We are citizens of Heaven, seated with Christ next to our Father. What a glorious position we have in Him!
Psalm 2
The Coronation of the King
Act I – The Nations Speak
‘How dare the nations plan a rebellion. Their foolish plots are futile! Look at how the power brokers of the world rise up to hold their summit as the rulers scheme and confer together against Yahweh and his Anointed King, saying: “Let’s come together and break away from the Creator. Once and for all let’s cast off these controlling chains of God and his Christ!”
Act II – God Speaks
God-Enthroned merely laughs at them; the Sovereign One mocks their madness! Then with the fierceness of his fiery anger, he settles the issue and terrifies them to death with these words: “I myself have poured out my King on Zion, my holy mountain.”
Act III – The Son Speaks
“I will reveal the eternal purpose of God. For he has decreed over me, ‘You are my favored Son. And as your Father I have crowned you as my King Eternal. Today I became your Father. Ask me to give you the nations and I will do it, and they shall become your legacy. Your domain will stretch to the ends of the earth. And you will shepherd them with unlimited authority, crushing their rebellion as an iron rod smashes jars of clay!’ ”
Act IV – The Holy Spirit Speaks
“Listen to me, all you rebel kings and all you upstart judges of the earth. Learn your lesson while there’s still time . Serve and worship the awe-inspiring God. Recognize his greatness and bow before him, trembling with reverence in his presence. Fall facedown before him and kiss the Son before his anger is roused against you. Remember that his wrath can be quickly kindled! But many blessings are waiting for all who turn aside to hide themselves in him!”’
